Mere Tuilau ,an Indigenous activist from Fiji breaks it down why the struggle for freedom is an unalienable right for Indigenous people

Why am i fighting for Indigenous?

I fight because it’s my right.
I fight because it’s your right.
I fight because it’s my voice.
I fight because it’s your voice.
I fight because it’s my people.
I fight because it’s your people.

Who are the Indigenous?
We ALL are Indigenous IN our OWN Land.

If someone migrates to our beloved home it means the love we have for you will not be any different to the whole family.
It means, as a family member I’ll fight for you and me in our beloved country that you now call home.

It means, if you’re hurt, you come to me for solutions (if it is to do with the environment or any unfair treatment)!
It means, if you’re hungry, you come to me for food!
It means, if you’re not safe, you come to me for protection!
It means, If you don’t like something, you come to me, I’ll defend you!

Fiji is a totally different story, It’s NOT your fault! Neither it is mine. We didn’t give our country to ANYONE, it was STOLEN from us! You and ME!

Am i fighting for Indigenous only?
If fighting for my Identity that is connected to the Land and Ocean to accommodate my forefathers and you, make me a racist than consider me GUILTY!
